An office building in Al Ghubra is the first of its kind in Oman to install an automated car parking basement, with 66 car parking spaces made possible in a 600 square metre-area without any ramps for driving in or out. A single basement of 6.8 metres height is used for three levels of parking, as each level can accommodate 22 cars. The firm said three more such auto car parking facilities are under construction.
“With an automated multi-level car parking facility now being introduced in Oman, car parking worries for properties in busy areas will be a thing of the past,” said Shabbir Boriawala, managing director of ipark and North Ocean Enterprises.
According to Thasleem Khan, CEO and managing partner of ipark, “As a fast growing country, Oman needs the latest technology in car parking systems. We offer a variety of solutions for different types of space and volume constraints. Starting from two cars for villas to 2000 cars for shopping malls and residential apartments, the facility is available with ipark and we are very proud that Oman will be known in various countries for it latest technology and expertise in automatic parking products, as this factory is the first of its kind in the Middle East and Africa.”
After successful installation of the 17-storey car parking system for Hotel City Seasons in Al Kuwair more than a year ago, with equipment brought from Korea, this is the first basement parking system by ipark in which equipment is being used from its own manufacturing facility in Barka.
